Spooky season is upon us...

…and I confess I haven’t done anything spooky. In fact, the spookiest thing I’ve done is pay for my daughter’s braces.

Yes, the Demon Daughter is getting her fangs fixed. This isn’t even a joke, her canines were descending and knocking all her other teeth out of the way, so I have to pony up eight grand so that the Great Maw That Will Devour All Worlds looks blinged out for the next two years.

In book news, my latest release Mistress of Fear is doing exceptionally well, and even managed to snag some bestseller tags in a few different stores, which absolutely made my whole year. I adored writing this book so much, I got to put everything I love about Urban Fantasy into it – political intrigue, unhinged side characters, feminine rage, and a little spice.

If you’ve read and enjoyed it, please feel free to share it and recommend it wherever possible!

Lair of Monsters, Releasing Nov. 30th!

Pre-Order Now!

Heartbroken. Traumatized. Laser-focused on vengeance.

Tortured by forbidden love.

I should have walked away.

When I started on this journey, I’d promised myself my vengeance would only go so far. I’d kill the witch who uncovered my family’s hidden sanctuary. I’d try and take out the contract killers who murdered them all.

But that was where it would have to end.

After all, I knew how the world worked. There would always be merciless men jostling for ultimate power in the Senate of Magical Detroit. Take one out, and it only creates a vacuum for another, more bloodthirsty one to step in.

It’s one thing to get vengeance against the man who exposed your family. It’s another to take on the shadowy terrorist organization who ordered them killed.

But Shepherd is growing in power, and they’re hell-bent on reshaping the Senate, destroying democracy and forcing the whole of Detroit under authoritarian rule. They want humans on top, with everyone else—shapeshifters, witches, vampires and fae—under their boots, or dead.

I should have walked away. My body and my heart keep betraying me every time I get close to Sasha Morgan, and the magical bond between us is driving me mad.

But we have to work together to take on Shepherd, before the whole city falls.

Lair of Monsters is book two in A Legacy of Vengeance and Magic, a gripping Urban Fantasy series with nail-biting supernatural suspense, magical political intrigue, and a sizzling enemies-to-lovers slow-burn romance.

WHAT’S GIVING ME LIFE/DRAINING ME DRY THIS MONTH:

I’ve Mastered The Art of Overnight Heatless Curls

It’s only taken forty years but I’ve figured out a super-quick daily routine to keep my frizzy hair looking ‘done’ at all times, and all it took was a scrunchie. I just put my hair up in a ponytail, stretch the scrunchie out and wrap the end of the ponytail around and around the fabric. In the morning I have perfect waves, and every time I put my hair up during the day, I do the same wrap-around-the-scrunchie technique to keep the curl pattern. It’s been a game changer! I’ve found that I can wear old sweatpants and holey t-shirts out in public but if my hair looks glamorous, nobody even notices.

Ziggy The Destroyer:

He went through a stage of stealing toilet rolls and biting them into tiny pieces so we had huge piles of confetti everywhere. I thought we had it all locked down but he started to take the rolls directly from the toilet roll holder. And when we began to keep the toilet door closed, he broke in there one day and chewed up the plastic toilet roll holder in revenge.  He’s lucky he’s so cute.

Currently Reading:

I just finished The Poison Daughter, which was excellent and super-satisfying, and now I’ve just started Shift by Karina Espinoza, and I’m already hooked.

Last week I did a story post on Instagram of me in a chiro waiting room and said how I was “about to get cracked.”

Found out very quickly that “getting cracked” means something VERY different now. Thanks a lot, gen z!

Until next time
