WHAT'S GIVING ME LIFE/DRAINING ME DRY THIS MONTH:

6th may, 2026

Release day! Love Bites – the next installment of Marie’s adventures – is out now, in Kindle, paperback, and in Kindle Unlimited.

This one has got a few big reveals, and to be honest I’m a little nervous about it all. I’m excited to hear your thoughts!

If you’re reading it and you’re enjoying it, please let me a review when you’re finished, and I’d love it if you could recommend the series to your friends. Every mention I get goes a long way to help with visibility in these algorithm-driven days.

In other writing news, the inevitable has happened again. A character from this series has popped out, grabbed me by the throat, and demanded her own story, and I’m desperately trying to ignore her until I can give her the attention she deserves. So yes, I have a brand new series in the works. More on that soon!

WHAT’S GIVING ME LIFE/DRAINING ME DRY THIS MONTH:

Rain, Rain, Go Away

It hasn’t stopped raining for two weeks now. I’ve just planted a bunch of star jasmine around my fenceline, hoping it will cover my fence in time for summer. On the bright side, I haven’t had to water it in, but I don’t know if it will survive the constant deluge if this rain keeps going. I guess I’ll have to wait and see.

The rain is also doing a number on my hair. I’m blessed with natural frizzball hair – not curls, not waves, but a big mess of dandelion-like frizz which goes even more bananas when there’s moisture in the air. I literally went to hairdressing school to try to learn how to tame it, and it still defeats me.

Currently watching:

I’m jumping on the bandwagon and I’ve started watching Off Campus, a hockey romance. I was hoping it would cure me of my Heated Rivalry obsession but alas, I don’t think it will. It’s cute and quite entertaining so far, though.

Good Reads

There’s so many great releases lately. My lovely friend Annabel Chase has just released the second book in her Blind Fury series, Bargain With Fate. Book one was awesome so I’m diving straight into this one. And after that, I’ll be reading Helen Harper’s Night Maze, number four in the Cat Lady Chronicles.

I wouldn’t call myself a control freak. I’m more of a control enthusiast. A control aficionado, if you will. I am quite dedicated to maintaining control over my environment, and I’m not going to apologize for that.

I have a life plan, and nothing will push me off the path to greatness. I’m going to get my PhD, get full custody of my baby brother, build a version of an Iron Man suit, and make the world a better place.

And sure, in the past couple of months, I’ve been teetering on the edge of losing control of myself. I’ve got a grip now, I promise. My hunger is taken care of, my heightened vampire senses are reined in, my murderous urges are under control. But, as God as my witness, I will have control over my environment.

But there’s one thing I’ve never really been able to get full control over, and that thing has just appeared out of nowhere, ready to mess up everything.

My mother.

Love Bites is book Four in the Eternity College Chronicles, a fun new supernatural comedy and urban fantasy series that’s a little bit Buffy The Vampire Slayer, a little bit Wednesday, and a whole lot of Big Bang Theory.

I took this snap the other day. during the very brief period of sunshine. This is the natural state of my hair in this kind of weather, just a big ol’ frizzball.

Until next time
